3K Trail Run ~ 14K Mountain Bike ~ 5K Trail Run

The Recon Double Trouble Off-Road Duathlon and Relay - Presented by Recon Fitness Adventures in Association with Leroy Springs - is a sprint-distance off-road duathlon (run-bike-run).  The course will be entirely off-road and held on the scenic Anne Springs Close Greenway, Fort Mill, SC.  The course is composed of scenic woods, open fields where you will get your share of single track running and mountain biking trails.
 
This event is for all levels of experience.  All you need is a good mountain bike, a helmet, a pair of running shoes, LOTS of energy and be ready for a challenging race.
 
Twelve bridges, two tunnels, one grist mill and many other features.
 
Date/Time: November 8, 2009 from 9am to 1pm
Location: Anne Springs Close Greenway (Field Trial Barn)
 
 
 
Course Information
The duathlon course will consist of a 3K (~1.8 mile) run, 14K (~8.5 mile) bike, and a 5K (~3.1 mile) run. NOTE: Off-road distances may not be exact.  Course will be professionally marked by Marcus Barton, two-time, XTERRA (Off-Road Triathlon) Nationals Qualified triathlete.  See your Course Preview Opportunities.
 
Divisions
Individual age group divisions and two-member team relay divisions (one member will race the two running segments other member will race the mountain biking segment) will be represented. Clydesdale and Athena divisions are represented as well.

Shirts and SWAG!
All pre-registered athletes will receive a technical tee with event logo and SWAG bag.  Registration must be completed by Monday, November 2nd in order to be guaranteed a technical tee.
 
Minimum Age
The minimum age for the Recon Double Trouble Off-Road Duathlon and Relay is 10 years of age.

Cut-Off Time: 3 Hours
All participants must complete the event in under 3 hours from the start of the event. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 3 hours.
 

 
Timing System
The Recon Double Trouble Off-Road Duathlon and Relay will be timed using the reusable timing chips that must be turned in after the race.  Chips and timing will be provided Setup Events.
 
Equipment Requirements
A mountain bike, shoes suitable for trail running and a smile.  Sorry, but due to the terrain, cyclocross bikes are not allowed.
